Why do I Need A Website If I have Online Profiles?

A personal website means you control not only your own narrative as an artist or business owner, but also your online searchability. That is done through SEO (search engine optimization), which runs on the backend of your website to communicate with search engines like Google. And now that Google has announced it will rely on Generative AI summaries, it will be harder to search for artists and even more important to keep all your info in that summary with SEO and now GEO. I do not use AI with your website, but with Google being the number one search engine, it will now be harder to be found organically, let alone have any control over what link is recommended or number one in any search gegine with out personal SEO, and that's with a website.

I use whatever platform you want, but I do have my favorites and am happy to go over all the pros and cons of the big website design platforms out there, which we can decide before we create an invoice.

Google now relies on AI summaries, making it even harder for an artist to be found amid the noise and making it even more of a priority to be found when someone is looking for you. Amber Ruffin recently said on Fresh Air with Terry Gross that she couldn't find actors she saw in a show to hire because when she googled them, she found nothing,Online profiles rely on the SEO of a site you can't control; same with socials, which can be sold and change at any moment. A website lets you control your narrative with SEO (search engine optimization). With your own website, you own your narrative and online presence and being sure all your links and info is on one stop-shop and not all over the search results like a scavenger hunt.
